Date: 23 Jan 2017
Category: Upper Warwick Corridor

As one of the essential connectors to I-64 as well as Fort Eustis, the Newport News Reservoir Bridge is scheduled for replacement. The Newport News Reservoir Bridge was built in 1960, widened in 1985, and the deck was resurfaced in the mid-1990s. Currently supporting 45,374 daily trips, this bridge proves to be an essential connector to those travelling throughout the City and on I-64. The existing bridge is approximately 672 feet long and 79 feet wide. The roughly $18 million project began preliminary design work in August. Construction is scheduled to begin by summer of 2018 and will be completed by summer of 2020.
